I've linked to Otto many times, particularly because he's an astute analyst of South American politics. And he's a smarty-pants, indeed. Not only does he stay on top of the latest political news, but he's an avid market man (specializing in minerals, natch).

Safe travels indeed! The only lament is that THIS is where the NEEDED effort might be focused to change, support and enfluence the world - even South America. Not as romantic and not as rockin' but NEEDED, none the less. Your talents and verve could serve us well on this continent.
